The caramel is one that was with the recipe. I'd like to try it with an indulgent chocolate cupcake.

With the sugarcraft flooding - it can be done either way. But directly ontop of other icing rather than the cookie or cake itself, as the cake/cookie may well absorb it. Stencilling is a similar technique to this in so far as you use a similar consistency royal icing. That is high on my list of things to try.

Sugarcraft items can be eaten. Sometimes the icing can be hard, when using pastillage for example. Wired flowers aren't really for eating, due to the wires, but I suppose can be nibbled if you feel the need! The only other thing to watch for is if the dusting is edible. In the man though, inedible dusting is used on flowers and things with wires. No it isn't a dumb question!CarpeDyemhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16248971594038892709noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3877896513227043132.post-56736943628381549972012-11-23T05:38:40.721+00:002012-11-23T05:38:40.721+00:00Never had carrot cake with caramel frosting. I'...Never had carrot cake with caramel frosting. I've always seen it with cream cheese frosting but I think caramel sounds much tastier.

The sugarcraft homework looked like a lot of fun. Is this technique used on cakes or cookies? Or are the designs made separately and then put on top of cakes and cookies?

And dumb question but...are the sugarcraft items meant to be eaten or just decorative? I assume that they are all edible since they are based in sugar.Lunerayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10346187790386024127noreply@blogger.com
