Too slow to catch a cold or turn apage

This lap top is too slow to catch a cold. It's doing my head in and I don't know how to speed it up. It's all since we upgraded the package from BT. It's bloody crap actually. It's taking several minutes just to load a page. Damn thing!

Friday the 13th

I've calmed down since the last post, although re-reading makes me feel tense. I'm not ready to continue down the path of sorting the blooming feed thing out. ggrr.

Had a good weekend. Very quiet. Made some chocolate crispie cakes - not made any of those for years!

Friday the 13th caught up with me with avengence and I've still got the bumps and bruises to prove it! I went tripped up and went flying at work and landed with a bump. Most embarrassing. It was witnessed, first aider had to be called, all and sundry then visited upon me. More details later.......

Gathered Brow

I've spent all morning desperately trying in vain to get my blog feed thing on my profile on Raverly and I can't do it. I can't down load photo's from my phone on to the pc. I'm tired, frustrated and pissed off, not to mention my eyes are sore and my brow is furrowed.

'She gathers her brow like the gathering storm
Nursing her wrath to keep it warm'

Rabbie Burns was bloody right there!

UK Swapee Uncovered

I've been told who my UK Swap Partner is! Loads of info about them, lots to think about. It will be alot more easier than the first swap I did as I had very little to go on. I think I've been matched well with 'Swapee', a bit uncanny on some levels. Perhaps there are actually people out there that are a bit like me after all, hhmm!! And oh gosh I really can't wax lyrical on here about what I might do or get for the swap without giving it away..... dang!

Peaches N Cream

This morning I gave in to self pressure and curiosity about Peaches N Cream yarn for face cloths etc. The Americans extoll its virtues mercilessly and endlessly. So off I went in search of it. First stop was their home page. I'm converted. The colours I want at least one of everyone and that wasn't even looking properly, I had to clickaway from the page in awesome shock. It was like going in to Wonderland and then finding that Wonderland was Wonderglobe as there was just so much of it!

But shipping, dear shipping was a black cloud. I then put a four pack of randomly selected colour in to my basket - $5.08 - what a bargain for the yarn. Then it was the cost of shipping. $25 or $32. Stuff that.

The dream dissapated as quickly as it arrived. I've had a quick look round to buy in the UK, nothing yet.

I ain't paying that sort of postage. No chuffing way. Don't care how wonderful it is! I shall have to find a back door to Wonderglobe!

Woolfest and Knitting

Monday Morning again, comes round so quick!

I've finally and begrudgingly accepted the fact that I can't go to the Woolfest again this year. Boo Hoo! And when I've been offered to work on the door, I'm really sulking! Things happen for a reason though. I'm still half tempted to get up early on the Saturday (as long as HobbitKeeper isn't working and drive up there Saturday morning. But then there is the question of his 40th which he says he's not bothered about and the astronomical cost of diesel, plus spending money..... I really can't believe the cost of diesel and the increase in food prices. And the Government seem to be doing nothing proactive about bringing cost down. We're economising already. Trips out in the car have become non-exisitant, as have trips to the pub!

Next month I'm going to start the home brew up again, best get some gaviscon in then.......

On Ravelry I've joined the 'Dishcloth a Week KAL', hopefully produce the first one this week and see how it goes. Also need to look up the pattern for the 'Mittens a month' one as well. I'm slowly knitting my first particular kitchen item that I've not made before - all very secret as it's for a Swap. It took a few goes to get it right and a trip to the potato bed but it seems to be going ok so far now.......

Baby Showers and Swaps

Well, the work seems to be coming in at the moment, still got some spare days through June and very little for July as yet. Think I might be able to make ends meet at the end of the month!

I've been busy, as ever with my knitting. Knit Chicks had a Baby Shower on Monday, I did two Perfect Baby Bibs and three mittens - still need to do the fourth!

I've sent off my first Swap Parcel. I hope my Spoilee likes it. I dyed the yarn but would've preferred a more purple colour than red. Never mind.

I've started work on my next Swap, needs a bit of tinkering with but am quite looking forward to doing it as the projects I've decided to do are things I've not made before....

The First Egg

This is our first Egg, laid on Saturday 30th May

This is Guess, she is a clever gal! She laid the first egg, and the second and the third.........
